Santosa

Santosa camp is back!

Sunday 3 – Sunday 10 June 2012

nr Shepton Mallet, Somerset

early bird price for the first 75 tickets!

Santosa (pronounced Santosha) means the happy acceptance of what is, as it is.

The experience of Santosa is at the heart of a living practice of yoga. It’s the bottom line for bringing yoga to life. With Santosa, everything in life is yoga. Without Santosa, even yoga practice isn’t really yoga! When we experience Santosa we are living yoga (read all abut it in the Yoga Sutras!).

This is a gathering for everyone who loves yoga and/or bhakti, and wants to camp and practice in a beautiful meadow overlooking Glastonbury Tor.

If your heart sings at the thought of spending a week in the beauty of nature, with the company of pure hearted loving souls who enjoy to practice yoga, chanting, meditation and bhakti yoga, then you are most welcome to join us.

We shall be working co-operatively to create an ashram experience that holds and nurtures everyone with the living spirit of karma yoga (the yoga of self-less service) and nourishes everyone by all eating delicious meals together.  We have a gorgeous ashram kitchen and a super-comfy covered seating area. Our site is the beautiful healing field up high overlooking Glastonbury Tor, a couple of miles from Shepton Mallet.

Santosa is a clear pure space, alcohol and drug-free, a family-friendly home for yogis of all ages.

This is for you if you like the sound of :

  • a week camping in nature with view of  Glastonbury Tor
  • yoga classes all day
  • bhakti and kirtan at all hours
  • no need to cook, just pack your plate and cutlery and we’ll eat together  ashram style

Santosa Yoga Festival

20 – 28 August 2011

between Shepton Mallet and Pilton

Santosa Yoga FestivalThis is a small and perfectly formed yoga festival – highly recommended by Positive Living Bath.  Last year there were 250 people, including us, and Ian Wood will once again be teaching Naam Yoga this year.

It’s camping in a meadow doing yoga all day – clear pure space – alcohol and drug free – family friendly – no cliques – just friendly yogis from all traditions teaching in yurts and big bender and in the open air.

The full day programme runs from dawn til dusk and includes asana, pranayama, meditation, kirtan, yoga nidra, chanting and camp fires. Children are welcome. You can come for the whole festival or just a day or overnight – see the website to book your ticket.

Teachers from all lineages including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Satyananda, Vini and Kundalini yoga; also Tibetan yoga, Kashmir yoga, Acro-yoga, partner yoga, Yin Yoga, kirtan, bhajans, dance ceremony, Shakti dance and more. Kids crafts, yoga, fun and games

Complementary therapists and healers working for donation (including Thai Yoga Massage, Reflexology, Reiki, Shiatsu, head massage and lots more).

There are classes for grown ups, classes for children, and classes for humans of all ages to enjoy practicing yoga together in tents and in the open air.

Yoga bazaar for books, CDs, musical instruments, clothes, mats, and other yoga stuff.

Sorry no dogs, but your small pets are very welcome (in previous years we have welcomed a number of pet rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice and gerbils). If they come back this year we’ll have a pet appreciation show!

Please note: Absolutely and clearly, Santosa yoga camp is completely alcohol and drug free. If you feel that you may want to use alcohol or drugs at all please do not book to come to these camps. Thank you.
