Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, otherwise known simply as ‘Amma’, is recognised as one of the foremost humanitarians of our time. Amma has travelled the world for the last 30 years, bringing a message of love, hope and peace through her talks, and her signature embrace — darshan— a personal hug that awakens the universal love in each of our hearts. whenever she is asked about her religion, she replies that her religion is love. she does not ask anyone to believe in god or to change their faith, but only to enquire into their true nature. The programme begins at 10:30am and includes a film on Amma’s love in action and a walk to the tor with a green meditation. An evening satsang of chanting and devotional songs starts at 6:30pm.

The suggested donation to cover costs for the day is £10.  Please bring vegan food to share for lunchtime.

Limited accommodation is available at the ashram as well as at local B&Bs in Glastonbury. Camping is also available and possible other budget options.

Simply Raw raw food film

We bring you a special hors d’oeuvre this month before our regular Raw Food Potluck – it’s a screening of the raw food film ‘Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 days

This documentary follows 6 Americans with diabetes who switch to a raw, vegan diet in order to reverse the disease without pharmaceutical medication, with amazing results!

The DVD cover says:

“Our participants made extraordinary improvements in their physical and emotional health while eating simply raw foods.  And it wasn’t just blood sugar that came down.  Cholesterol, blood pressure, and weight, all came down where needed.  Everyone on medications got off most of them.  By the end of the 30 days the whole group felt physically and emotionally better.  They were SIMPLY happier.  If you work from your heart, it’s as simple as “change your ways, change your life”.  Eat Simply Raw.  Let the garden be your pharmacy.”

Do stay on for our raw food potluck at 6pm to find out what this “raw food stuff” in the film is all about.
