Venue
Mas Sant Nicolau, with its magical gardens set between the gentle foothills of the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean sea, is the idyllic setting for the Hua Gong holidays. The traditional Catalan farmhouse in the gentle countryside of the Costa Brava has six simply furnished self catering cottages set in extensive gardens, a tennis court, swimming pool and twelfth century hermitage at the gate. The swimming pool is bordered by palm trees and fragrant lavander beds. It is surrounded by woods and open countryside, just 30 minutes from Gerona.

The first of Dario’s 2011 Hua Gong (chi kung, qigong) holidays in Spain gave a small group of practitioners the chance to leave the UK winter grey behind in February for a few days of Qi Gong relaxation and peace in the warm mediterranean sunshine of the Costa Brava. An unforgettable highlight was the session on the beach, surrounded by the gentle sea lapping against the white gold sand, then a picnic at the medieval village of Sant Marti, next to the sea.

Qigong (Hua Gong) with Dario Gerchi in Bristol, Bruton and soon Bath
Some of you will know Dario from the Raw Food Potlucks or his beautiful guitar and voice performances at the Cafe Grace open mic nights. Others will already know Dario as a talented teacher or Qigong/Hua Gong. This is what he says about Hua Gong:
“Everyone wants mental peace, physical relaxation, balanced and harmonious energy, and good health in their life. It can be frustrating, however, to find that we do not always know how to achieve these qualities. Even when we do know the way, we may still find that we cannot follow it properly.
Quigong/Hua Gong provides an invaluable way and clear guidance along the way for us to realise these desirable qualities. It is simple enough for beginners to learn, and profound and sophisticated enough as a lifelong practice.”
Dario is running a workshop in Bruton in July (see below), and leading a Hua Gong holiday in Spain in June. He teaches a regular class in Bristol and Bruton.
