Mantra, Chants and Magical Songs from Sudha (voice) and Ravi (kora, guitar and voice)
“Ravi and Sudha are inspirational musicians, don’t miss this special evening” Deva Premal & Miten
The video speaks for itself, but if you need words…
Ravi JI is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer. As well as 20 recordings including work with artists such as Nigel Kennedy, Baaba Maal, Krishna Das & Deva Premal, he has also created projects which brought Amazon Indians on a tour of Europe.
Ravi has developed a unique way of playing the kora (West African harp) over twenty years and was one of the first Western kora players to take this highly sophisticated instrument into new musical areas.
He is also an accomplished overtone singer and performances include chants and mantras from around the world and his own songs of prayerful reflection. www.koratone.com
Sudha is originally from Denmark, starting out as a dancer from the age of 9. As an adult, Sudha explored different ways of meditation and ways to connect to the divine Source, especially the Indian mystic Osho.
Based in the UK since 2007. Sudha has been playing concerts with good friend and beautiful singer/song writer Tarisha, mixing songs and chants from their separate albums to form a sweet journey of singing and silence.
Sudha also joined a project with flute player Tim Wheater and producer Andy Blissett, together they form Hummingbird and will soon have the album This Sacred Love ready for release.
Currently Sudha performs as a duo with multi instrumentalist Ravi, offering Sacred Chants and Songs of the Heart.

Healing Song of the Heart
Sound Healing day with Sudha & Tarisha
Saturday 14 April 2012
11am – 5pm
Hamilton House, Stokes Croft, Bristol

A day programme, running from 11am till 5pm, includes a meditation to relax and open the body, giving participants time to arrive in the space. Keeping the tranquil vibe, Sudha and Tarisha sing their beautiful songs and chants to bathe everyone in light and deepen the silence. We gather in a Sound Healing Circle, first opening up our voices and hearts with gentle exercises, then singing, gently allowing the vibration of sound to move around our body. We end with a song circle where we sing together letting our hearts resonate with each other. A lunch break is also included where we will have time to share food and chat.
No previous experience with singing is needed. It is simply about allowing what ever – sound or no sound – to arise from the heart and to feel the healing that it brings. Sudha and Tarisha have known each other for more than a decade and have played for meditation gatherings and festivals many times over the years. Their close friendship is reflected in their work together and always makes the atmosphere light and relaxed.
“Being in Tarisha and Sudha’s sound circle feels like a warm embrace for the soul. A boundaryless healing space where letting go is easy. The relaxation in my body and heart still resonated for a long time after the session. Both giving and receiving sound brought a very deep silence inside”. Afke, Brighton
Tarisha is a singer songwriter living in the Osho Leela community in Dorset. Her music is inspired by nature, meditation, silence and the heart. She has recorded 2 CD’s of her songs and chants, All Your Faces and Carry me Home. The first has shamanic and playful qualities, the other is heartful and gentle.Tarisha has taught singing and songwriting for many years inspiring totality and creative expression. With Sudha, she is focusing more on the healing power of sound and song, bringing light into the heart.

Sudha, originally from Denmark, is now based in Somerset. She has been travelling all over the world to share music and meditation at festivals and meditation conferences. In 2006 she was initiated to give “Deeksha” – a transmission of healing energy. It is this same source of energy she taps into when singing. In 2004 she released her debut album Planet Love, an album of chants from around the planet – and in 2007 Sharanam, an album of deeply meditative and devotional Sanskrit mantras. Apart from performing she has guested a long list of recordings varying in styles from smooth jazz to world fusion and pop.

The 2012 Unicorn Natural Voice Camp
4th-12th August 2012
We have a spectacular line-up of headliners this year leading the ongoing sessions: We have been asking the fabulous Una May Olomalaye to fit us into her busy schedule for the last three years and at last she is coming!
We are also very happy to announce the long awaited return of probably Natural Voice’s most popular songwriter Ali Burns all the way from darkest Edinburgh! Talking of long awaited returns, Raaja Fischer wowed us last year after a decade away, and returns again this year!
It’s true that Dee Jarlett & Ali Orbaum haven’t missed a Natural Voice Camp this century, but they haven’t hosted an ongoing session for the last three years, so this too counts as a welcome return! Also on the welcome return list is Rowena Whitehead – the People’s Revolution starts here!
The B Naturals have become a familiar constellation in the Unicorn firmament, this year for the first time they are hosting an ongoing session of workshops together, and for those weary of learning songs, Chrys Blanchard will be running a full course of Vocal Sound Healing, and Kate O’Connell and Annabelle Macfadyen will be facilitating improvisational voyages of discovery.
If your favourite voice teacher wasn’t on that list, the chances are that they will be there offering a Drop-in session!
The 2012 Unicorn Healing Camp
13th-17th August 2012
This season sees the birth of a new camp initiative with the first Unicorn Healing Camp. Our intention is to keep it small to start with, although as the rumour of its inception spreads, we are finding a lot of interest is being generated. Many thanks for the offers from would-be teachers, and perhaps next year we will be able to expand our programme; for now however we have the team we need.
This team features Barbara Morgan and Family Constellations, James Burgess with a distinctly Sufi spin on his 7 Words System, John Bowker leading sacred chants and more, Nesta offering Tea Cermony and Yoga, Richard with 7 Words Theatre, something wonderful yet as yet unspecified from Jo Hanstead, Martin‘s harp healing, and Jo Pitcairn‘s Movement workshops.
All comers will have the possibility of one to one counselling of some kind, and we hope that we can build a very intimate, safe atmosphere through which to generate the power to transform and heal, as well as pass some techniques to those who want to learn method.
Please book early for this one.
The 2012 Unicorn Peace Through the Arts Camp
18th-26th August 2012
It is part of Unicorn Camps practice to find something new each year so that the whole process has a chance to evolve naturally in response to feedback and opportunity. So over the last few years we have introduced Open Space, at first experimentally and then later adjusting and refining until we can feel confident that we have it just right. Also the Development Groups have gone through a similar process – and this year a noticeable difference will be to do with Family Constellations, whose popularity has grown to the point where we have set up the new Healing Camp around them – and reduced their time on PTA.
Muiz, ever popular, has agreed to return to continue to deepen his study of Sufism with us… and James will lead the Thursday night Zikr this year. Ruth scored another major hit with the Café and will be hosting Nickomo’s Beatlemania follow-up with a tribute to Simon & Garfunkel. Even more good news is that Rasullah’s back – we missed her! She’ll help out with Harmonic Temple and Dance of Life. All the rest is as you would hope for – Circle Dance, Yoga, Jilani’s focus on teens leading dances, and of course, an absolute superabundance of wonderful Dances of Universal Peace!

After a resoundingly successful event last year, we present another wonderful day of music, dance and much more! Unicorn icons and others will be there to lead events from morning till night. This year’s programme is designed so that anyone needing to leave early can still enjoy the core Unicorn staples of DUP and HT. For those staying overnight there will be an opportunity of a shared walk on Sunday morning. All events are optional. Cleeve house is a lovely old mansion with a nice warm fire in the main hall to relax by.
Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) and Harmonic Temple include simple chants from many spiritual paths. Kirtan is Indian devotional singing, Taizé is Christian in origin. All reflect the nature of Unicorn events, honouring the unity of all traditions and creating a beautiful and powerful experience by joining our hearts and voices.
