Singing together and swinging from branches …An enchanted day with creative ways to explore and respond to the beautiful woodlands around you. Time to breathe the fresh air, to leave your everyday cares behind and get inspired in the great outdoors. You don’t need to know how to sing, how to dance, what trees are called or indeed anything. You need curiosity, a good jacket and a sense of adventure. The woods await you and beckon you in …

You will be guided by Mel and Itta, both experienced leaders in ecological arts, improvisation and site-specific performance. Their workshop style is supportive and playful. Beginning with a good vocal and physical warm up, we explore using voice, words, movement, trailmaking, questing, mapping, foraging, group creativity and solo reflection time. We inhabit our voices and bodies, season and place together, landing in the present with a satisfying thump.

Women, let’s come together and dance!

Dancing is a radical act of self pleasure and connection with all that is sacred

For how long have you been dreaming of a better life and a better world?

Are you ready to dance your dream awake in pleasure?

We women are by nature powerful magicians. In ancient (and modern!) earth cultures our moon time and menopause/wise elder years were known as times of special power and potential. Our bodies hold the mystery of creating and giving life. Old teachings say that not only can we make babies, but that we give birth to everything in our lives. As well as our physical children, our “children” include our own bodies, our homes, relationships, artistic creations, jobs, businesses, leisure activities, everything! Not all of us will have babies and raise a family. But we do all give birth and are mothers to ourselves and our lives.

Making friends with ourselves as powerful birthing women can change the quality of our life experience dramatically as we begin to define in our own terms how we wish to live, what children we desire to birth and nurture. Awakening the Dancer within is a beautiful way for any woman to learn to give birth to her own self. By dancing the 5 Rhythms of flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness, we can learn to bring all parts of ourselves together and consciously give birth to our full power and beauty.

It is a simple and profound dance/movement meditation, that with regular practice can help us to become more authentically ourselves and find our natural way in life. Pleasure is a key to this journey! Joining together to dance with other women at full moon time creates a powerful sanctuary and cauldron of creation for us all to be nourished by. Women of all ages and experience are warmly welcome. Dress in comfy layers, bare feet or soft shoes and be prepared to sweat!

Healing Song of the Heart

Sound Healing day with Sudha & Tarisha

Saturday 14 April 2012
11am – 5pm

Hamilton House, Stokes Croft, Bristol

Sound healing day with Sudha and Tarisha

A day programme, running from 11am till 5pm, includes a meditation to relax and open the body, giving participants time to arrive in the space. Keeping the tranquil vibe, Sudha and Tarisha sing their beautiful songs and chants to bathe everyone in light and deepen the silence. We gather in a Sound Healing Circle, first opening up our voices and hearts with gentle exercises, then singing, gently allowing the vibration of sound to move around our body. We end with a song circle where we sing together letting our hearts resonate with each other. A lunch break is also included where we will have time to share food and chat.

No previous experience with singing is needed. It is simply about allowing what ever – sound or no sound – to arise from the heart and to feel the healing that it brings. Sudha and Tarisha have known each other for more than a decade and have played for meditation gatherings and festivals many times over the years. Their close friendship is reflected in their work together and always makes the atmosphere light and relaxed.

“Being in Tarisha and Sudha’s sound circle feels like a warm embrace for the soul. A boundaryless healing space where letting go is easy. The relaxation in my body and heart still resonated for a long time after the session. Both giving and receiving sound brought a very deep silence inside”. Afke, Brighton

Tarisha is a singer songwriter living in the Osho Leela community in Dorset. Her music is inspired by nature, meditation, silence and the heart. She has recorded 2 CD’s of her songs and chants, All Your Faces and Carry me Home. The first has shamanic and playful qualities, the other is heartful and gentle.Tarisha has taught singing and songwriting for many years inspiring totality and creative expression. With Sudha, she is focusing more on the healing power of sound and song, bringing light into the heart.

Sudha, originally from Denmark, is now based in Somerset. She has been travelling all over the world to share music and meditation at festivals and meditation conferences. In 2006 she was initiated to give “Deeksha” – a transmission of healing energy. It is this same source of energy she taps into when singing. In 2004 she released her debut album Planet Love, an album of chants from around the planet – and in 2007 Sharanam, an album of deeply meditative and devotional Sanskrit mantras. Apart from performing she has guested a long list of recordings varying in styles from smooth jazz to world fusion and pop.
