Ian WoodI have studied Iyengar yoga over the last twenty years and found doing a class a week very helpful in balancing out my too hectic life style. But reading Eckhart Tolle’s ‘The Power of Now’ really lead to massive changes. I started meditating for the first time in my life. Before I knew it I had given up my party lifestyle and was even more full of energy, getting up at 6am in the morning to do my yoga practice and meditation.

Whilst working in New York I thought I’d try a different yoga class and Googled ‘yoga New York’.  Amongst the hundreds of options was a ‘Naam Yoga‘ class that sounded quite crazy.

WOW! what a class, it totally blew me away. It was like being with angels, and I came out of it buzzing. I have always struggled with singing and voice work and by joining in with the mantras, I felt I had pushed through some barrier and opened a door inside me. This is the self healing that Gurunam speaks of on his web site www.universalforceyoga.com.

I was so struck by this class that  three months later I had been on an intensive training course and was a qualified Naam Yoga Teacher.

I truly believe that we are now entering a time where meditation and finding the true inner self will become paramount. Man’s mind rules him and fools him into believing that it is the whole person, when there is so much more to us. The yoga I teach is about exploring these other dimensions of ‘the self’.

I would like to thank my family and friends for all their support over the years.
